Dear Great Silver Fleet,
Everyone who has had a chance to experience the great performance of one of the many Gleaner S67 or S77 Natural Flow™ demonstration combines in the field in wheat, canola, milo, corn and soybeans in late summer and fall, are very impressed with what Gleaner engineers have done to move the capacity needle and reduce fuel consumption on these new machines. In higher density crops such as higher yielding, higher moisture corn, as well as green stem soybeans and canola, is where these machines have really shined.
Let’s have a clean fight. The Super Series combines are showing how well their sample competes against other combines out there. The clean samples come from our exclusive accelerator rolls and 2-stage cleaning.
Tritura™ processor
The secret behind the increased capacity and reduced fuel consumption in the S7 Super Series combines is the Tritura™ processor (Latin for: to thresh).
The processor is 20% larger and the CDF™ rotor is 25% larger at 30 inches in diameter compared to the R6 Series machines. This provides a 21% increase in threshing and separation area and an incredible 48% increase in cubic inches of throughput volume.
The flat crop mat enters the processor and is threshed over a new 4-section, 17-bar concave with an 87 degree wrap. Gleaner engineers were able to reduce the wrap of the concave from the original 105 degrees to 87 degrees to minimize the chance of over threshing the crop for better grain quality, and still increase the concave area by 10% due to the increase in the processor diameter. Wider, constant-pitch helical bars move crop quicker and reduce power requirements resulting in higher throughput capacity at extremely low loss levels.
Exclusive 360° threshing and separation
The Tritura processor is perforated 360 degrees around the entire rotor which makes a big difference compared to other competitive machines who have only the bottom half of their processor as open grate area. That means the crop must travel another 180 degrees in order to exit the processor. With the Gleaner S7 Series, crop can exit the processor anywhere around the entire circumference of the rotor accomplishing in one pass what it takes everyone else two passes to accomplish. We can accomplish what a 180-inch rotor can do in a compact 90-inch package. With the larger diameter perforated processor, the S7 Series has accomplished increased capacity with a more efficient processor which takes less horsepower while providing incredible grain quality.
Like no other. The unique Gleaner cleaning system was created over 30 years ago and has still yet to be rivaled by any other. The Super Series feature the most drastic updates to the Gleaner process for threshing, separating and cleaning since the process was created.
Unmatched clean grain quality
When it comes to cleaning of the grain in any combine, it is all about air and how effective you use the air to separate the MOG from the grain.
The Gleaner S7 Series is the only combine among all manufacturers that features a 2-stage cleaning system. No other combine delivers a cleaner grain sample. All other combines have a single stage cleaning system delivering all the air the cleaning fan can muster to the front chaffer and sieve. The larger the square inches of the cleaning shoe, the more difficult it is, to effectively distribute the air to separate the MOG from the grain.
Higher yields, higher moisture, harvesting corn on corn, and headers taking more residue through the combines, can compound the problem and create greater shoe load and loss, as well as more foreign matter in the grain bin.
The Gleaner S7 Series combines with their exclusive accelerator roll technology move the crop at 4 times the speed of free fall through a high velocity of air, precleaning the majority of crop before it ever reaches the shoe. The cleaning shoe becomes a secondary means of cleaning, not the primary one.
The increased cleaning capacity on these new S7 Series machines is a result of 25% larger diameter accelerator rolls and a larger diameter cleaning fan resulting in 34% more cubic feet per minute of air flow. More air means the cleanest grain sample of any machine.
No need for self-leveling shoes and undercarriages
Our accelerator roll technology means unmatched performance on slopes up to 23% without the need for complex and expensive self-leveling cleaning shoes and self-leveling under carriages. We take gravity out of the picture.
Up for anything. The Super Series is uniquely suited as an all crop combine thanks to updates to the processor, accelerator rolls, fan, clean grain cross auger and fan intake.
Increased clean grain elevator capacity
A 12” bin-fill auger and a larger diameter clean grain cross auger increases clean grain elevator capacity and takes grain away from the cleaning shoe quicker thus increasing capacity in heavier crop conditions.
Largest grain bin capacity

The S7 Series has the largest standard grain bin capacity on any combine at 330 bushels, but the S67 and S77 combines now offer an optional electric power-fold 390-bushel grain bin option, the largest factory installed option on any combine today. With the world’s fastest average unloading rate at 4.0 bushels-per-second, the 390 bushels can be unloaded in just 98 seconds.
Increased horsepower and lower fuel consumption
The 2011 S67 Super Six combine is rated at 314 hp with power bulge to 344 hp and the S77 Super Seven combine is rated at 370 hp with power bulge to 398 hp. New AGCO Sisu Power Tier 4i engines with e³ clean air technology can deliver up to 10% less fuel consumption depending on conditions versus previous Tier 3 engines.
Lower fuel consumption is also a result of a machine that weighs 2 to 3 tons less than competitive machines and uses a more efficient processor than previous models.
These are the lowest-fuel-consumption-per-bushel-of grain-harvested machines anywhere.
